Professional Development: Workshop on current evidence in creating sustainable change in your patients and clients. This workshop is for health professionals (GPs, psychologists, counsellors, naturopaths, chiropractors, coaches) who want to assist all of their clients reach their health goals. You know that you have an understanding of the client’s health needs and want they need to do – how do you assist your client to take the action required? This workshop will explore research and experience of what creates sustainable change. This workshop is aimed at helping health professionals connect with their clients, and create change, while maintaining their own health and resilience.
Carrie is a Clinical Psychologist with 20 years experience. Carrie has presented training to GPs and health professionals, at conferences, published in magazines such as InPsych and interviewed for radio such as Triple J. Carrie is also a speaker and host of the top rated health podcast “The Abnormal Psychologist” (itunes).
About Carrie Thomson-Casey
Carrie is a Clinical Psychologist who has worked in a variety of mental health settings, both public and private for twenty years. Over the last ten years Carrie has been working in private practice with children, young people and adults as well as supervising and mentoring other clinicians. She practices in north west NSW and on the Sunshine Coast QLD delivering psychological therapy to clients referred with diagnoses, such as anxiety, depression, chronic pain and other significant stressors that have a negative impact on daily life.
Carrie is also a speaker and has presented at training events and workshops all over the country for GPs, clients, and the general public, she has delivered research papers at conferences, published articles in magazines, and has been interviewed on radio shows, such as Hack on Triple J. Carrie has also presented at mental health awareness events including sharing the stage with other speakers such as Jessica Rowe and the Minister for Mental Health.
Carrie is also the host of the top rated health podcast “The Abnormal Psychologist” Giving you the “how to” to get the best out of you? The abnormal reflects imperfection – that she is a woman, wife and mother before she is a clinical psychologist and therefore has worries and bad days too just like everybody else. However her clinical knowledge and experience allows her to draw on strategies that she has seen assist others, …and herself. On the podcast she chats with guests about everyday mind, body and life matters to inspire listeners to have the life that they want. There are discussions and interviews around how to improve everyday mental health, nutrition, movement and exercise as well as health and lifestyle product reviews.
